Personal lighting, feathers, foil, tulle, corsets, fishnets, mesh, masks, face paint, tiny top hats, the theme was circus/carnival inspired with a dash of Victorian and lots of individual stylings...
I was partaking of a Green Fairy at the bar when I saw one in all her glory, wings and all, her green face glittering, lights all over her bodice and layered skirtings...

The name and the promo shots were so tantalising....the show, what several short acts we caught, uninteresting, unattractive and unfunny - left feeling ripped off and disappointed, an authentic carnival sideshow vibe!?!
The Clockwork Butterfly 'fashion show' at the Melbourne Fringe Festival had a few too many 'oopsies' in a lot of acts, showing talents wit a bit less than 100% professional finesse from the majority of performers 'procured at great expense by management' hopefully they were joking about that...but still a discovery for me of this genre, that it's a worldwide thing...and interesting...and has been around since the 80s...so says Wiki on Steampunk...
Melbourne Fringe Festival gold - the boys from Ipswitch, Queensland bring the sexy and funny back...and totally cure me from wanting to see female burlesque ever again...just not the same, go boys! Your fan dance and pole dance (and more) rules...
